Here is something: What I thought was just another automatic submission email generated by rejection robots was actually a real message of acceptance from a real person who typed my name after “Dear.”
My story “The End of the Objects” has been accepted by A capella Zoo, and I was four days late in replying not because it’s the Christmas season, but just because I am a little too accustomed to the auto-reply. It’ll be out in March of 2012. I’m very excited! Thank you to all of the people upon whom I’ve foisted the numerous drafts. Because of you, it doesn’t suck.
Yesterday I began the arduous and unaccountably self-eviscerating task of putting all my good stories into one document and giving it a title. I’ve been waiting to do this for months.
