It’s been a fun beginning of 2018 for me (nothing short of a dumpster fire for the rest of the world), and I’m enjoying the process of working with Transgress Press, supportive and smart editors like Trystan Cotten and S. Kirk Walsh, and a talented graphic designer on this book.
The book’s been included on some most anticipated lists –
- Most Anticipated LGBT Books for 2018, Band of Thebes
- 2018 Reads From the Lit Desk at Texas Book Festival
- Big Other’s Most Anticipated Small Press Books for 2018
Once I have set dates, I’ll plan a trip up the west coast to see friends and family and try to sell some books. Meanwhile, I’m doing some reviews and working on a novel and reading and teaching and playing music with Brand New Key.
I recently wrote a review of Jess Arndt’s Large Animals for Gertrude. I was fortunate to be asked to moderate a panel with Jess and Eileen Myles back in November at the Texas Book Festival, and though I didn’t mention that to the editors at Gertrude, they sent me Large Animals. I hope Jess doesn’t think I’m a stalker, but I was excited to write about my experience with those stories.
